The reason Samsung makes cellphones with 3-4 rear cameras
Galaxy A9 carries 4 rear cameras, while the Galaxy A7 has 3 rear cameras. Both Samsung has just released in a magnificent event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Of course some things become questions about the cellphone duo.
The 4 and 3 camera features don't even exist in Samsung's flagship segment. Samsung CEO DJ Koh also explained the reason behind the creation of Galaxy A7 and A9, related to the large number of cameras.
"Why did we release A9 and A7? When we released a flagship cellphone, some millennials couldn't buy it. That is the reason in the past 12 months I have been thinking about the millennial mindset," he said.
"Millennials like expressing themselves with their devices, for example on Instagram. So, what kind of devices are suitable for millennials? Well, today, A9 and A7 are the right devices for millennials and the prices are affordable," said the bespectacled man.
Millennials are believed to be warmly welcomed if there are devices with friendly prices in the pocket, and bring innovative features such as A7 and A9. "Generally speaking, when we make devices with good innovation and affordable prices, they will like it," said DJ Koh.
Camera features are the main concern because millennial is the main target of this device. Everyday, this market segment really cares about smartphone cameras.
"Our observation of millennial consumers is that they want to specialize themselves. They want to share what they do, want to hear what their friends do or celebrities. They like photo and video content. So, the camera features are very important for them," explained DJ Koh,
"That's the reason we give three cameras or four in this segment. This is a very bold decision. We always listen to our customers," he concluded.
